Strife mode spells?

Just downloaded the latest version, tried playing strife with a couple fellow nub friends. Only problem was, was that we had no idea how to get the spell ingredients, and there were no items in any of the shops (besides basic hp/mp potion and tome of retraining)

So, where do we get the ingredients and items? X3
